Documents for enrolling in university studies abroad

The application file must contain legalized translations of the high school diploma, high school transcript and birth certificate. However, each university/faculty has its own requirements, and the list of documents required for enrollment must be requested from each faculty separately.
If apostille of the documents is also required, the original high school diploma and transcript will be authenticated at the School Inspectorate of the county in which the documents were issued.
These are the steps required to apostille the high school diploma and high school transcript:
- a certificate of authenticity from the high school secretariat for both documents
- authentication of the documents at the School Inspectorate; the original documents that need to be authenticated are required, as well as a xerox copy of them.
- obtaining the apostille from the Prefecture of the county in which the documents were issued.
- translation and legalization of the respective documents.
- apostille of the legalized translation at the Chamber of Notaries in the county where the translations were legalized.
Most faculties abroad also require language proficiency certificates to demonstrate that the future student will be able to cope with courses and seminars. The language proficiency certificate can be translated or submitted as a legalized copy, according to the requirements of each institution.
