Endorsement of study documents for abroad: diploma, transcript and translations
When you intend to use abroad certain study documents issued in Romania, it may be necessary to endorse them before completing the other formalities. The procedure differs depending on the level of education and the documents you intend to use.
Who endorses study documents?
For study documents from pre-university education, the endorsement procedure is carried out by the County School Inspectorate or the School Inspectorate of the Municipality of Bucharest.
For study documents from higher education, the endorsement competence belongs to the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED).
In the case of university study documents, among the documents that can be endorsed are the diploma, the diploma supplement and transcript, as well as other university school documents, depending on the situation.
Why are translations important?
After the documents are certified, depending on the country and institution where they are to be submitted, it may also be necessary to produce authorized or legalized translations.
Translation may be required for:
- diploma;
- transcript;
- diploma supplement;
- certificates of studies;
- other school or university documents.
Requirements differ depending on the document and the authority of the country where it will be presented. Therefore, it is recommended to check the necessary formalities in advance.
